Chalk-talk with Gilles

Understanding the tactics and positioning play in hockey is as important as technical skills. What separates the good hockey players from the poor hockey players is the understanding of the game and how it’s played; these types of players set themselves apart from the rest of the players on the ice.

In order to assist players in better understanding positional play, commonly used hockey vernacular and basic team tactics the 8-weeks off-ice chalk-talk program will be initiated by the club.

The program will be delivered by Gilles Fortin on every Friday night between 6 pm and 7:30 pm

starting October 7 for the duration of 8 weeks.

The primary focus of these sessions will be to make the players more aware of hockey theory, logic of the game flow and awareness of standardized Terminology.

Here are the topics that will be covered and discussed during the sessions

a. Defensive Zone Coverage;

b. Offensive Zone Coverage;

c. Face Off Zone Coverage;

d. Penalty Kill Coverage;

e. Power Play Coverage;

f. Break Out Zone Coverage.
